EDF Renewables UK is following its first round of exhibitions earlier this year with more public events in the Scottish Borders about the progress of plans for a new wind farm. The three exhibitions will take place in Longformacus, Gifford and Westruther.
With a proposed location in the Lammermuir Hills, Dunside wind farm, once completed, could generate around 100MW of low carbon electricity alongside significant funds to be invested in projects throughout the Scottish Borders.
The second round of public exhibitions will provide the latest information about the further design work and environmental investigations EDF Renewables UK has carried out since the first exhibitions.
With drawings and visualisations at the events, visitors can find out about the environmental surveys and assessments which have been undertaken on the proposed site. Members of the project team from EDF Renewables UK will be on hand to answer any questions that visitors may have.
Richard Fisher, Development Project Manager at EDF Renewables UK & Ireland, said:
“We really welcome feedback from the local community and hope that as many people as possible can attend one of these events.
“By listening to and incorporating local knowledge and perspectives into our proposed plans for Dunside wind farm, we can ensure that the project will make a lasting and valuable contribution to the Scottish Borders. As with our previous public events, the comments and responses of all visitors are used to inform the next stage of our proposals.”
