EDF Renewables UK is once again giving people the chance to visit its Fallago Rig wind farm as part of Doors Open Day 2023.

The free-to-attend event will take place on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 September at the wind farm in the Lammermuir Hills, with free buses available from nearby villages.

Visitors who sign up to the event will get a rare, ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the site, including seeing the wind turbines up close, viewing the control room, which operates and monitors the wind turbines and speak to the onsite Fallago Rig technical team.

There will be three opportunities to visit the wind farm over the weekend; two visits on Saturday and one on Sunday. Places for the visits are limited and must be booked in advance online.

Visitors must use the bus transport provided – it is not possible to visit the wind farm via any other mode of transport and private car access is not possible.

Transport for all three trips to the site is free and will be provided by EDF Renewables UK. Buses will leave for the wind farm from Lauder, Westruther and Duns over the weekend, returning to these locations after each tour has taken place. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided at the wind farm. Members of the EDF Renewables UK team will be on hand to show visitors around.
